Short: vertical mini-dramas in minute-long episodes

Short dramas were made for the phone: episodes of a minute or two, stories that end on a cliffhanger every time. Reeltu has a tab for them — in your language.

Two Android phones: one shows the Short tab with its language picker, the other a short drama’s page with its episodes.

Short dramas are series shot for the phone: vertical video, episodes of about a minute and a half, and a twist at the end of every one. A story runs anywhere from fifteen to well over a hundred episodes, which sounds like a lot until you notice you have watched twenty on the bus.

A tab of its own

In Reeltu they live in the Short tab, on Android phones, Android TV and Google TV, Mac and Windows. Short is shown in every language the app speaks, and it opens on dramas in your language — or in English, when there is nothing in yours yet.

Next to the first row there is a language picker. Use it to switch to dramas in another language — the list shows only languages that currently have something to watch, each written in its own language. Your choice is remembered on the device.

Episodes, just like a series

A drama opens on its own page, the same way a series does: Play, or Resume where you left off, an Episode card that lists every episode, and the episodes below it to start any one directly. It plays in the same player as films and series, with the same buttons for subtitles, skipping and the next episode.

Dubbed or subtitled

Each card says what you will get: a Dub badge means the drama is dubbed into that language, and a CC badge means it plays in its original language with subtitles in yours. The player lists every audio track and subtitle language a drama carries, with yours chosen from the start.

Built to keep going

When an episode ends, the next one starts immediately. Continue Watching keeps your place, so when you come back the card is already on the next episode. Dramas you favourite collect in the Library under Favorite Shorts.

On a phone and on a TV

On a phone, the player turns with the video: a vertical drama plays upright, filling the screen the way it was shot. On a TV or a computer it plays in the middle of the screen with dark bars at the sides, so nothing is cropped. Almost every drama is vertical; the few that are not simply play full width.
