Deverakonda Vijay Sai, known professionally as Vijay Deverakonda, is an Indian actor and film producer who predominantly works in Telugu cinema. Born on May 9, 1989, in Achampet (present-day Telangana), he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Badruka College of Commerce in Hyderabad before pursuing theater with the Hyderabad based group Sutradhar. He made his feature film debut with a supporting role in the romantic comedy *Nuvvila* (2011) and gained initial acclaim for his performance in the coming-of-age drama *Yevade Subramanyam* (2015). He achieved widespread stardom as a leading man with the National Award-winning romantic comedy *Pelli Choopulu* (2016) and followed it with a career defining performance as a volatile surgeon in *Arjun Reddy* (2017). His other major commercial and critical successes include the biographical drama *Mahanati* (2018), *Geetha Govindam* (2018), *Taxiwaala* (2018), *Dear Comrade* (2019), *Kushi* (2023), and *Kingdom* (2025). Over his career, he has won several honors, including a Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu (*Arjun Reddy*), a Nandi Special Jury Award (*Yevade Subramanyam*), and the SIIMA Best Actor (Critics) – Telugu award (*Geetha Govindam*). He also established his own production company, King of the Hill Entertainment.
