Sean Patrick Astin (nato il 25 febbraio 1971) è un attore, regista e produttore statunitense. Figlio dell'attrice Patty Duke e dell'attore John Astin, ha iniziato la sua carriera da bambino con il film I Goonies (1985), diventato un cult degli anni ottanta. Ha raggiunto la fama internazionale interpretando Samvise Gamgee nella trilogia de Il Signore degli Anelli (2001-2003) di Peter Jackson. Nel corso della sua carriera ha recitato anche in film come Rudy - Il successo di un sogno (1993), 50 volte il primo bacio (2004) e Click (2006), oltre ad aver partecipato a numerose serie televisive tra cui Stranger Things.
