Ronald Colman, acteur britannique né en 1891, commence au théâtre avant d’être blessé durant la Première Guerre mondiale. Il se tourne ensuite vers le cinéma et devient une grande star du muet, puis du cinéma parlant, où sa voix élégante contribue à son succès. Installé aux États-Unis, il connaît une carrière très populaire et est nommé aux Oscars dès 1930. Il meurt en 1958 en Californie.
