Loretta Young

Gretchen Michaela Young, bekannt als Loretta Young, war eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin. Schon als Kind begann sie ihre Karriere beim Film. Für ihre Arbeit in Film und Fernsehen erhielt sie zahlreiche Auszeichnungen. Sie gewann den Oscar als Beste Hauptdarstellerin für ihre Rolle in „Die Farmertochter“ (1947) und erhielt ihre zweite Oscar-Nominierung für ihre Rolle in „…und der Himmel lacht dazu“ (1949). Young wechselte zum relativ neuen Medium Fernsehen, wo sie von 1953 bis 1961 eine dramatische Anthologie-Serie mit dem Titel „Ihr Star: Loretta Young“ drehte.
