Brian Blessed OBE ist ein englischer Schauspieler. Er ist bekannt für seinen markanten, buschigen Bart, seine tiefe Stimme und seine temperamentvolle Persönlichkeit. Er verkörperte unter anderem PC „Fancy“ Smith in Z-Cars; Augustus in der BBC-Fernsehproduktion von „Ich, Claudius“ (1976); König Richard IV. in der ersten Staffel von „Blackadder“; Prinz Vultan in „Flash Gordon“; Bustopher Jones und Old Deuteronomy in der Londoner Originalproduktion von „Cats“ (1981) im New London Theatre; Thomas Beaufort, Herzog von Exeter, in „Heinrich V.“; Boss Nass in „Star Wars: Episode I – Die dunkle Bedrohung“; und lieh Clayton sowie dem Tarzan-Schrei in Disneys „Tarzan“ seine Stimme. 2016 wurde Blessed für seine Verdienste um Kunst und Wohltätigkeit zum Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) ernannt.
