Sylvia Sidney (eigentlich: Sophia Kosow) war eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin russisch-rumänischer Abstammung. Sylvia hatte 1929 ihr Filmdebüt im Drama Thru Different Eyes. 1931 wechselte sie nach Hollywood, wo sie mit Straßen der Großstadt zu einem Star wurde. Für neuere Generationen von Kinogängern ist Sylvia für den Horrorfilm Damien – Omen II (1978) und die Tim-Burton-Filme Beetlejuice (1988) und Mars Attacks! (1996) bekannt.
