Johnny Carson

John William Carson war ein US-amerikanischer Fernsehmoderator, Komiker, Autor und Produzent. Bekannt wurde er vor allem als Moderator der „Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson“ (1962–1992). Carson erhielt sechs Primetime Emmy Awards, den Governor’s Award der Television Academy (1980) und den Peabody Award (1985). 1987 wurde er in die Hall of Fame der Television Academy aufgenommen. 1992 wurde ihm die Presidential Medal of Freedom verliehen, und 1993 erhielt er den Kennedy Center Honor.
